Career History:

1975 : F1 Debut at the Spanish GP with Hesketh Racing team.

1976 : Moved to Sturtees' racing team however soon left team due to disagreements and was then signed to drive in the Formula 5000 and USAC races for Teddy Yip in America.

1977 : Jones replaced Shadow driver Tom Pryce who was killed in South Africa.

1978 : Joined the newly reformed Frank Williams team, Williams Grand Prix.

1979 : Finished 3rd in the Drivers Championship.

1980 : Williams, Formula 1 World Champion, becoming Australia's first Champion since Sir Jack Brabham.

1981 : Announced his retirement and ended his career with a win in Las Vegas.

1983 : One-time drive with Arrows.

1985 : One-time CART race at Elkhart Lake.

1986 : Raced a full season with Team Haas, and then retired from Formula 1 for good.

1986 : 2005  Has been racing touring cars, became a TV commentator and now acting as a driving force behind Australia's A1 Grand Prix Team.
