Grand Prix Masters LTD is expected to announce this week that there will be a race later in the year at the state of the art Sepang facility. The race is expected to be held on 15 th October and it is thought that all the contracts have been signed on the dotted lines.

The 3.344miles/5.3500km 15 turn Hermann Tilke circuit has been on the F1 calendar since 1999. With its high speeds, wide track layout and amazing facilities this track has quickly become a driver’s favorite. However, with the temperature in the 80’s F and humidity to match it will be a demanding race for both man and machine.

The expected announcement comes a little under a week after it was announced that the planed Monza race would cancelled due to local court action. Further more there could be more news in the pipeline as it is know that Scout Poulter (GP Masters CEO) is working hard to secure a race at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit. It is also thought the race will take place on September 17 th which was the scheduled to be the weekend of the F1 race (which was cancelled earlier in the year). A race at Spa would be a very popular addition to the series and it is know that the drivers are also keen to race at Spa’s classic circuit. However, time could play a big factor in whether the race goes ahead this year.
